Dasavatharam release in Pongal.

Kamal Hasan’s Dasavatharam packs tremendous energy into a unique screenplay and visual imagery that has impressed not just the film industry, but Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi as well.
The film’s publicists say Dasavatharam is so full of interesting themes that Mr.Karunanidhi apparently called up Vairamuthu who was in Australia and conveyed his enthusiasm.
“The fact that the Chief Minister enjoyed the pictures with youthful enthusiasm and pinched my cheek with affection as if I were a kid is equivalent to celebrating the success of Dasavatharam with a huge function,” says Kamal.
Some of the thrills in Dasavatharam include a gripping fight sequence featuring Kamal Hasan in a face-off with himself. Hollywood action director Joop took 20 days to shoot this sequence. The other piece of action is Kamal in a chase sequence in Chidambaram. The adrenaline here flows thanks to Thyagarajan Master, an experienced associate of Kamal.
If Rajnikan’s Sivaji created a new standard for the grandeur of sets in the Chennai film industry, Dasavatharam may yet best it with two that are being built, again by Thotta Tharani. Sets are being created with 100 workers in Chennai for two songs, which cost close to Rs.three crores, according to the publicists.
Asin makes Dasavatharam unique not just with colour, but by giving her own voice to her character, which the producers say is her very first such move. She has a ‘brahmin’ accent to boot. Kamal has dubbed in 10 different voices for 10 characters and the subtleties of each character have been brought out without digital manipulation, according to the audiographer, Sridar.
A sample of the intensity of the project is available from a scene featuring 10,000 people. The audio for such a scene is normally handled with far fewer people lending their voice, but here, it will be 5,000 people. This would make the entire scene rich in detail, including sound.
There is a strong emphasis on action in Dasavatharam, and Kamal says the stunts featuring him and Asin were performed without taking risks, thanks to the “small tricks” that Hollywood has perfected. If India’s stuntmen followed those procedures, they would not be risking their life and limb.
The audio for Dasavatharam with Himesh Reshamaiah’s music and lyrics by Vaali and Vairamuthu will be released in October. The film, with visual effects by three different software companies and some of the best graphics designers, is a truly international project capable of withstanding scrutiny for its technical perfection and production standards. It will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. It release in Pongal2009.It is the big treat for Kamal haasan fans.

$100 computer has finally arrived .

The $100 computer has finally arrived. For a mere Rs 5,000, the urban employee with a shallow pocket can make his dream of a home PC come true.
The home PC is a product of Novatium, a Chennai-based startup in collaboration with MTNL. The 'Nova' is a Net PC.
"The Internet Nova PC is not very different from a TV. Just switch it on and do whatever task you want to do after you connect to it. Then switch it off," says CEO Novatium Solutions, Alok Singh.
A Net PC is a computer which has a central processing device connected through a server. This means, all functions are handled and data stored in a central location, while the computer helps to connect you to it.
Truly convenient, but the question is, what of the security and privacy of the data

While the firewalls have been taken care of, the more important thing is the security, especially since there are so many files. No one is given your password, except a few members of the service providers, who do not access the information," says MTNL Executive Director, A K Sinha.
But here's the downside. With just 300 MB in the initial package, it calls for spartan usage of space. And there's no CD or DVD drive. Also the dependence on the connectivity of the service is not a comfortable feeling.
However, there is cause for excitement, because the Nova Internet PC is the harbinger of times, when technology will be affordable by all.

‘Evano Oruvan’ to be premiered abroad

The story of ‘Evano Oruvan’ is all set to be told to Indian audiences in the United States and the Middle East.
Leukos Films, the production house of actor Madhavan, would be taking its maiden venture to Los Angeles, New York, Bahrain, Oman, Dubai, Qatar and Abu Dhabi by the end of October.
The movie is a remake of the award-winning Marathi film ‘Dombvili Fast’, which follows a middle-class protagonist struggling to live by his principles in a corrupt world.
“I had to work really hard for this film. The camera tends to make the hero larger than life. I had to fight that, put junior artistes bigger than me around me, wear clothes and develop mannerisms that make me blend into the crowd.
I had to unlearn hitting and hit like I didn’t know how to do it before,” said Madhavan, about his experience of working on the film.
Shot entirely in Chennai, shooting for the movie was completed in exactly 31 days.
So is this going to be a film aimed at the film festival circuit?
“This is a hardcore, straightforward Tamil film,” he insists.
It will not be released abroad first, though.
One of the prerequisites for entries at film festivals is that the film be released in the country of production.
The preview shows are just that — previews with entry on invitation.
“With all my projects, there is certain amount of dissatisfaction, things that I wish I had done better. This film has given me an unprecedented level of satisfaction,” adds Madhavan.
‘Evano Oruvan’ is slated for a December 7 release.
